The South West Victoria Football Association (SWVFA) strives to provide opportunities for everyone in our community to participate in healthy, safe and inclusive football (soccer) activities in a fun and family orientated environment.
The SWVFA is managed by dedicated volunteer staff, all of whom tirelessly provide their time, skills and effort to ensure the Association can offer a variety of competitions and representative opportunities.
The SWVFA provides an encouraging environment for the growing number of families coming to the sport and aims to create clear pathways for all clubs to provide opportunities to elite players, as well as development and support for Coaches and Referees in the region.
The SWVFA is an incorporated, not for profit organisation which runs the football (soccer) leagues in the South West of Victoria under the governance of Football Victoria (FV). SWVFA, was established 2017, having previously operated as the Warrnambool and District Soccer League (WDSL) which began in 2009.
The founding member clubs of the Association were Corangamite Lions, Deakin Dragons, Hamilton Raiders, Warrnambool Rangers, and Warrnambool Wolves. Since then, the league has grown to include Stawell Pioneers joining 2019, Portland Panthers in 2020 and Port Fairy Plovers in 2021.
All based in South West Victoria, the clubs cover a large geographic area, in excess of 9,700 square kilometres, and take in the major population centres of Hamilton, Portland and Warrnambool, as well smaller regional towns such as Camperdown, Cobden, Mortlake, Penshurst, Port Fairy, Stawell, Terang and Timboon.
